This Privacy Policy explains how Worksona LLC ("Worksona," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, profiles, AI features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Worksona, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from third-party service providers.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Login and authentication information
  • Account status
  • Subscription status
  • Authentication identifiers, such as Clerk user IDs
  • Preferences and settings

Authentication is provided by Clerk, which may collect additional information according to its own privacy policy.

Profile and Career Information

To create and operate your Worksona profile, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Profile photo
  • Resume files and extracted resume text
  • Career history
  • Job titles
  • Employers
  • Education or professional background, if included in your resume or profile
  • Skills, abilities, and interests
  • Bio
  • Success stories
  • Social links
  • Custom profile slug or URL
  • Common questions
  • Welcome message
  • Profile themes and templates
  • Other information you choose to add to your profile

Uploaded Files and Photos

You may upload files, images, profile photos, resume files, gallery photos, captions, or related content.

Uploaded content may be stored with third-party storage providers.

Endorsements

If endorsements are submitted for a profile, we may collect:

  • Endorser name
  • Company name, if provided
  • Relationship to the profile owner
  • Endorsement content
  • Submission metadata

Endorsements are professional recommendations submitted through Worksona. They are not independently identity-verified by Worksona.

Visitor Chat Information

Published profiles may include an AI chat assistant. When a visitor interacts with a profile chat, we may collect:

  • Visitor messages
  • AI responses
  • Optional visitor-provided name
  • Optional visitor-provided company
  • Time and date of the interaction
  • Profile interacted with
  • Usage and rate-limit information

Profile owners may be able to view visitor chat transcripts.

Visitors should not submit sensitive, confidential, proprietary, or unlawful information through Worksona chat.

Payment and Subscription Information

If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor, Stripe, may collect payment information, billing details, card information, invoices, tax information, and subscription status.

Worksona does not store full payment card numbers.

We may store Stripe customer IDs, subscription IDs, payment status, plan status, and related billing metadata.

Support and Communications

If you contact us, submit a support form, or communicate with us by email, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Subject
  • Message content
  • Any information you include in your communication

Usage, Device, and Log Information

We and our service providers may collect information about your use of the Service, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Pages viewed
  • Referring URLs
  • Timestamps
  • Rate-limit information
  • Error logs
  • Performance data
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • Security and access logs
  • Message counts, usage counters, rate-limit events, abuse-prevention signals, and related metadata used to monitor reliability, enforce plan limits, and protect the Service

Analytics Information

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand page views and performance. These tools are intended to be cookieless and privacy-conscious.

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, FullStory, PostHog, or similar behavioral tracking tools based on our current production configuration.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Generate and display Worksona profiles.
  • Process resumes and profile content.
  • Provide AI-generated bios, abilities, questions, summaries, and chat responses.
  • Allow profile owners to publish and manage public profiles.
  • Allow visitors to interact with published profile chats.
  • Store and display visitor chat transcripts to profile owners.
  • Allow users to collect, review, approve, and display endorsements.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Enforce free and paid usage limits.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Send transactional emails, including welcome emails, billing emails, upgrade emails, payment failure notices, and account-related notices.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, unauthorized access, and policy violations.
  • Monitor performance, debug errors, and improve the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.

3. AI Processing

Worksona uses third-party AI providers to power certain features.

Depending on the feature, we may send AI providers information such as:

  • Resume text
  • Profile information
  • Career history
  • Bio
  • Abilities
  • Interests
  • Success stories
  • Endorsements
  • Visitor chat messages
  • Visitor-provided name or company
  • Job descriptions used for private links
  • Other information you choose to provide

AI providers may process this information to generate outputs such as bios, questions, abilities, summaries, career entries, private-link content, and chat responses.

AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. Users are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing or relying on it.

Our current AI providers include OpenAI and Anthropic. We may add, remove, or change AI providers as the Service evolves.

4. Public Profiles

Profiles are private by default until published by the user.

If you publish your Worksona profile, certain information may become publicly visible, including:

  • Name
  • Profile photo
  • Bio
  • Career entries
  • Abilities
  • Interests
  • Social links
  • Common questions
  • Welcome message
  • Approved endorsements
  • Photo gallery
  • Captions
  • Profile theme and template
  • AI chat assistant

Your raw uploaded resume is not intended to be publicly displayed. However, information from your resume may be used to create public profile content or AI responses.

If you create private links, anyone with access to those links may be able to view the tailored profile experience associated with that link.

You are responsible for reviewing your profile and private links before sharing or publishing them.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Worksona, including:

  • Authentication providers, such as Clerk.
  • Payment processors, such as Stripe.
  • Hosting providers, such as Vercel.
  • Database and storage providers.
  • File upload and storage providers, such as UploadThing and Vercel Blob.
  • Email providers, such as Resend and SMTP providers.
  • AI providers, such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • Analytics and performance providers, such as Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
  • Security, logging, and infrastructure providers.

These providers process information on our behalf or as necessary to provide their services.

We may also share information:

  • With your consent.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
  • To enforce our Terms or policies.
  • To detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security issues, or technical problems.
  • To protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Worksona, users, visitors, or others.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you purchase a paid plan, Stripe may collect and process your payment details, billing information, card information, tax information, and subscription data.

Worksona may receive and store limited billing information, such as your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan status, payment status, and related metadata.

Stripe's processing of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Worksona uses cookies and similar technologies as necessary to provide authentication, security, and account functionality.

Our authentication provider, Clerk, may set session cookies and related technologies to keep you signed in and secure your account.

Stripe may use cookies and similar technologies on Stripe-hosted checkout or billing pages.

We currently use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which are intended to be cookieless.

We do not currently use app-set marketing cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party behavioral tracking scripts.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and operate our business.

Profile data, uploaded content, visitor chat transcripts, endorsements, photos, and related information may be retained while the profile owner's account remains active unless deleted earlier or unless deletion is requested.

Visitor chat transcripts are retained so profile owners can review interactions with their Worksona profiles.

Certain information may be retained longer where necessary for billing, legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, accounting, or compliance purposes.

If you request deletion of your account, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to process the request within 30 days, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, backup, and technical limitations.

Some copies of information may remain in backups, logs, or storage systems for a limited period after deletion.

9. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

You may request account deletion or submit a privacy request by emailing:

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including where necessary to protect security, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, complete transactions, maintain business records, or protect the rights of others.

10. International Users

Worksona is operated from the United States.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed, transferred, and stored in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your location.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will be completely secure, error-free, or protected from unauthorized access.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

12. Children

Worksona is intended for users who are at least 18 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we may delete the information and terminate the account.

13. Your Choices

You may be able to:

  • Update your profile information.
  • Publish or unpublish your profile.
  • Edit or remove certain profile content.
  • Approve or delete endorsements.
  • Manage billing through the billing portal.
  • Contact us to request account deletion or other privacy rights.
  • Stop using the Service.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the Service, by email, or by updating the "Last Updated" date above.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
